Best PC/Computer speakers for games, music and movies!

Ok lets take a look at some of the best speakers you can get for your PC for different budgets.
This will be about dedicated PC speakers with integrated amps- not true Hi-Fi or Home Theater speakers that require external amplifiers or DACs. And these suggestions are purely my opinion.

I am a huge believer in having a discrete subwoofer for a PC to get the ultimate bass kick for games and movies- also this allows the satellite speakers to be small and hence be easily placed on the desktop beside the monitor and the big (hopefully) subwoofer tucked away out of sight under the table or corner of the room. So this article will feature mostly 2.1 or 5.1 systems.

1) Logitech Z506

This is Logitech's low to mid-range 5.1 speaker set-up. It has a decent sized subwoofer along with 4 satellites and center channel that sport a tweeter and a mid-range driver. Thus they sound fantastic with movies and games and music and paired with a good sound card will sound even better.

Only problem with these is that the Bass level control is on the back of the sub. :(
However for the price you cannot find any better 5.1 audio than this. You will need to look at far more expensive systems to get anything better.

2) Logitech Z623

This is a 2.1 system with THX certification (which means it will never be sub-standard at anything).
Very powerful speakers with 200watts RMS in total with 130 of those going to the sub: these will be enough for most house parties. Turn the sub all the way up and behold- no distortion!

3) Corsair SP2500

Corsair's entry into the PC speaker market was a stunner.
With 232Watts RMS and high-grade components, if you can get hold of one it would be killer.
One of the best 2.1 PC speakers ever made. Only wish they had a 5.1 option.

 4) Logitech Z5500

These are the 5.1 PC speakers to die for- not manufactured anymore and replaced by the inferior Z906 model (which has a smaller subwoofer) these are the speakers I have personally owned for 10 years plus now. And they still work flawlessly- however the center speaker has got a slight rattle and vibration with age as the speaker cone binding has started to crack and fall apart. And the bass coming out of this can shake the whole building. Not to mention the flawless Dolby Digital and DTS decoding.Combined with a blu ray drive and PowerDVD software this can sound utterly amazing.
Wish Logitech would simply update this model with a DTS-HD MA option instead of the Z906.

If you look around eBay sometimes they will have a used Z5500 for sale- sometimes even a new one for a huge price premium.

5)  Microlab Solo 7c

These speakers come highly recommended by reviewers as a solid entry into the low-budget PC speaker market. They look good and sound good with good bass, decent highs and good mids. They sport dual woofers and a tweeter and come encased in a real wood cabinet.
